Alexander Reiterer is head of the »Object and Shape Detection« department at Fraunhofer IPM, with more than 15 years of experience in the field of geodesy, laser scanning, mobile mapping and digital photogrammetry. In 2017 Reiterer assumed the »Professorship for Monitoring Large-scale Structures« in the Department of Sustainable Systems Engineering (INATECH) of the University of Freiburg.
From 1994 to 2001 he studied Geodesy at Vienna University of Technology with a specialization in Engineering Geodesy. He graduated about »A Knowledge-Based Decision System for an On-Line Videotheodolite-Based Multi-Sensor« in 2004. As a postdoc he worked at Vienna University of Technology, ETH-Zurich and University of Calgary Canada. Alexander Reiterer has been involved in numerous research projects, among them the EU-project De-Montes and the nationally funded project i-MeaS.
