Abstract

BIM modelling of an existing highway based on mobile mapping

The PPP project A7, conceived as an availability model, includes: a the six-lane extension of 29 kilometers between Göttingen and Bockenem. The project volume for the approximately 60-kilometer-long motorway section amounts to about 1 billion euros over the project period of 30 years. A part of the existing 6 lanes highway will be modeled as a “digital twin” based on a mobile mapping survey. This BIM model will later be used during the construction phase for scheduling the work at the existing objects and build up discipline models for further use cases.
